Grilling food for a date night dinner at home is the perfect way to tell your significant other “I love you.” With a main dish of grilled pork tenderloin drizzled with a decadent beer and mustard glaze, and lemon grilled asparagus and indulgent smoked mashed potatoes on the side, you’ll have a meal to remember.
Date Night Dinner on the Grill
These three recipes make for a perfect special occasion dinner. And let me tell ya, I made this exact meal for my husband Todd while we were newly dating, and I’m pretty sure this meal sealed the deal for our relationship.
Whether you’re looking to cook up something special for a significant other, or you simply want to make a delicious dinner for your family, these are the recipes for you!
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Beer and Mustard Glaze
Grilled Pork Tenderloin is a weeknight dinner staple, and it’s the perfect entree for date night. It’s a great recipe when you don’t have a lot of time to spend grilling your entree and when you don’t have a large crowd to feed. The beer and mustard glaze is the candy on top of this perfectly grilled pork tenderloin, and it has a flavor profile that perfectly complements the pork.
Grilling pork tenderloin is a really straightforward process because the meat is fairly uniform in size and it cooks so quickly. Follow the steps outlined in my blog post for a delicious grilled pork tenderloin with flavors that are out of this world!
Smoked Mashed Potatoes
Smoked mashed potatoes make an excellent side dish to your grilled pork tenderloin. These potatoes are fluffy with a good smoke flavor to bring a tasty twist to a classic side dish.
Check out my full recipe post for Smoked Mashed Potatoes to see how I whip Yukon Gold potatoes into a buttery, scrumptious side that is perfect alongside beef, chicken, pork, and more! Mashed with butter, cream cheese, milk, and salt, and then smoked at 225 degrees F, these potatoes are amazing and make the best accompaniment to just about any meal.
Grilled Asparagus
Grilled asparagus is the perfect side dish for dinner any day of the week. This asparagus is simple and quick, and it has a crisp lemon flavor. I think you’ll agree that it is absolutely fantastic!
Asparagus is easy to grill and is ready in less than 10 minutes! I have all the details outlined on my post for Grilled Asparagus, and I think you’ll agree you get a lot of flavor for little effort.
Here’s how easy it is to make grilled asparagus at home:
- Preheat your grill. Fire up your gas grill and preheat to High (about 400 degrees F).
- Season the asparagus. Trim the tough ends off the asparagus. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, lemon zest, lemon juice, and garlic.
- Grill! Put your asparagus directly on the grill and grill for 8-10 minutes.
