With just 6 simple ingredients and 5 minutes of prep time, and you can create this cool, creamy Dill Pickle Dip in your own backyard to feed the people you love. I’ve been creating recipes for over a decade, and this tangy dip is one of my favorites.
Creamy Dill Pickle Dip with a Garlic and Herb Crouton Crumble
This isn’t your average party dip. It’s a flavor masterpiece for pickle lovers everywhere. A combination of cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo creates the perfect creamy base for the dill pickles to add a briny crunch. The secret ingredient is my Hey Grill Hey Fish & Veggie Rub. This seasoning amplifies the pickle flavor while adding savory depth and a subtle kick of heat.
The finishing touch of crumbled garlic and herb croutons adds a delightful contrast that makes every bite an experience. One bite, and you’ll be ruined for other dips. If you’re ready to discover your new favorite go-to dip, let’s get started.
Ingredients for Dill Pickle Dip
When your family gets a taste of this cool and zesty dip, they won’t believe it only took 6 ingredients to make. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup dill pickles (finely minced)
- 1 Tablespoon Hey Grill Hey Fish & Veggie Rub
- ½ cup garlic and herb croutons (crumbled on top)
You can pick up a bottle of rub in the Hey Grill Hey Store, or make your own following this recipe.
How to Make Dill Pickle Dip
Now that you’re good and hungry imagining this Dill Pickle Dip, it’s time to make it for yourself. Just follow these easy steps and you’ll be dipping in no time:
- Build the base. First, add your softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise to a medium-sized bowl. These ingredients create that perfect, creamy foundation that makes this dip so addictive.
- Add the flavors. Next, stir in the finely minced dill pickles. You want them chopped small enough to distribute evenly throughout the dip. Sprinkle in the Hey Grill Hey Fish & Veggie Rub, then mix everything together with a rubber spatula until you have a smooth, creamy dip that’s beautifully speckled with pickles and seasoning.
- Chill for the best results. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour. This chilling time isn’t just for temperature (but that’s a bonus). It also helps the pickles maintain their crunch and allows all the flavors to meld together perfectly. While you can serve it immediately, the extra chill time really makes a difference in taste and texture.
- Add topping, serve, and enjoy! Right before serving, sprinkle the crumbled garlic and herb croutons on top. You want those croutons fresh to provide a crunchy contrast to the creamy dip.
What to Serve with Dill Pickle Dip
The best part about this shareable dip is how beautifully it pairs with so many things. I like to serve my Dill Pickle Dip with some original-flavor, ridged potato chips. That way, the flavors of the dip get to take center stage. Or, you can try any of these tasty additions.
- Fresh vegetables: Try carrots, celery, bell peppers, cucumber, even pickles (trust me)
- Crackers: Choose sturdy ones that won’t break under the weight of this thick dip.
- Pretzel sticks: The salt and extra crunch go amazing with this dip.
- Pita chips: This flavorful dip is right at home with more grown-up options.
Can I make this dip ahead of time?
Not only can you make this dip ahead, it gets better with time! You can make your dip the day before your gathering and store it covered in the refrigerator. Give everything a quick stir before serving, and remember to wait to add the crouton topping until you’re ready to serve.
If you have any remaining dip, place it in an airtight container and store in your fridge. It will stay fresh and full of flavor up to 5 days. This is hypothetical, though. There won’t be leftovers once your guests dip that first chip.

Creamy Homemade Dill Pickle Dip
Ingredients
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup dill pickles finely minced
- 1 Tablespoon Hey Grill Hey Fish & Veggie Rub
- ½ cup garlic and herb croutons crumbled on top
Instructions
- Make the dip. First, add your softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayo into a medium-size bowl, then add the minced dill pickles. Sprinkle everything with the Fish & Veggie Rub before mixing it together. Stir it all with a rubber spatula until you have a smooth, creamy dip speckled beautifully with the pickles and seasoning.1 8-ounce package cream cheese, ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup dill pickles, 1 Tablespoon Hey Grill Hey Fish & Veggie Rub
- Chill the dip. Cover the bowl with some plastic wrap, then place it in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes to an hour. Chilling helps give the pickles a little extra crunch, and the dip just tastes better served cool. You’ll still have a delicious dip if you don’t have time to wait, but I highly recommend chilling if you have the time.
- Add the topping, serve, and enjoy. Whether you opt to chill your dip or not, wait to add the crumbled crouton topping until you’re ready to serve. You want them crunchy to contrast the creamy dip. Serve with your favorite chips, and enjoy. I recommend original-flavored potato chips with ridges. This will allow the dill pickle flavor to shine. This dip also tastes amazing with fresh veggies, or any other way you typically enjoy cool dips.½ cup garlic and herb croutons
