Grilled Peaches and Pound Cake

Nothing goes together quite as well as grilled peaches and pound cake. It’s that dessert you’ll come back to again and again because it’s just the right amount of sweet without being too overpowering.

Not only are the flavors out of this world, but you get a nice combination of flavors. The cake is crispy with soft, caramelized cinnamon peaches. Speaking of those peaches, they add the perfect brightness to the dessert with a punch of flavor. The creamy whipped cream ties everything together with just the right kiss of sweetness.

Another bonus of cooking this pound cake on the grill? It’s done incredibly fast! With a 15-minute prep time and 10-minute cook time, you’ll be enjoying your sweet dessert in 30 minutes or less!

Tips for Making Grilled Pound Cake

So even though this recipe is extremely straightforward, I’ve compiled a few tips to help you make sure this meal comes out looking and tasting like perfection. Check them out below:

  • Stay close! Stay right by the grill while cooking the pound cake and peaches. They both cook super fast, and you don’t want the cake to burn or the peaches to turn to mush. Remove both promptly when they are done.
  • Refrigerate the cream. Whip the cream just before grilling and store in the fridge to keep it fluffy while you grill your pound cake and peaches.
  • Try a different fruit. If you don’t like grilled peaches, you can slice and serve them fresh on top of the grilled pound cake. This recipe is also delicious with a variety of berries. Go ahead and pick your favorite and let those creative juices run free!

Ingredients

Whipping Cream

  • 1 pint whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Cinnamon Peaches

Pound Cake

  • 1 loaf pound cake sliced into 1.5 inch slices
  • ¼ cup butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400-500 degrees). Prepare the whipping cream and peaches while the grill heats.
  • Make the whipping cream. Place the whipping cream in a large mixing bowl and beat on high for several minutes until stiff peaks firm. Do not over-beat. Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla and mix in slowly. Refrigerate until needed.
  • Prepare the peaches. Slice your peaches into wedges and place in a bowl. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon and toss to coat.
  • Grill the pound cake. Brush the melted butter on both sides of the pound cake slices. Place the buttered pound cake slices on the grill at a diagonal for 30 seconds then turn to the opposite diagonal for another 30 seconds to create beautiful grill marks. Flip and repeat on the other side.
  • Grill the peaches. Grill the peach slices for 2 minutes per side until caramelized.
  • Top the cake with peaches and whipped cream and serve. Transfer the grilled cake slices to a serving platter, top with the grilled peaches and whipped cream. You can also set out the individual components and allow guests to build their own.
