- 2 Tablespoons mayonaisse
Preheat. Preheat your grill or smoker to 400-450 degrees F.
Making seasoning. Combine all the ingredients for your seasoning in a small bowl, then stir with a fork to break up any clumps.
2 pounds ground beef, 2 Tablespoons Kosher salt, 1 Tablespoon black pepper, 2 teaspoons smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon chili powder, ½ teaspoon ground mustard
Form patties. Form your ground beef into 4-6 ounce patties and season on both sides with my classic burger seasoning, or your preferred burger seasoning. Grill the burgers. Grill patties 4-5 minutes per side, or until about 10 degrees F below your desired doneness.
Add cheese and toast buns. Top each patty with a slice of American cheese and cook for 1-2 more minutes, or until the cheese starts to melt. Toast buns during this time.
