Cowboy Fire & Ice at the World Food Championships!

November 7, 2017

It’s that time of year again, friends! The time we celebrate the successful lady pitmasters of the Cowboy Fire & Ice Championships. The top 10 lady-led competitive BBQ teams are heading to Orange Beach, Alabama this weekend to compete for their share of $25,000 worth of cash and shiny diamond prizes!

How does it work?

At the beginning of the KCBS competitive circuit, female led BBQ teams were encouraged to register their team for the Fire & Ice series. During the 2017 season, all points earned in KCBS Team-of-the-Year contests from 1/1/17 through 10/30/17 count toward the Fire & Ice points chase. The top 10 teams with the most points at the end of the chase are granted a Golden Ticket to compete in two competitions during the World Food Championships.

These talented teams will compete first in a 2 hour “Griller’s Choice”  Fire & Ice challenge competition. The competitors can grill any food they would like as long as they cook on Cowboy Charcoal as the heat source. The teams will be judged to WFC’s standards. The second competition is the next day and the teams will compete using standard KCBS rules and processes. The Fire & Ice Winners will be determined by a combination of the points (equally weighted) earned in each of the competitions. You can read the full rules HERE if you want even more info!
